Request for a copy of a document

 

If you wish to obtain a copy of a document held in the SHD and you know the item reference number: please read the terms and conditions for copying, where you will find the prices for technical costs and partial copyright assignment. If you do not know the item reference number, you can complete the online form "Asking for help".

Procedure for ordering online:

1) Fill in the copy request form below;
    
2) SHD will send you a quote for the work requested, which you should send back along with your payment;

3) Once your payment has been received, the SHD labs will make your copy, which will be available within two months after receipt of your payment. You can choose either to collect it at a reading room or have it sent by post.

Please be aware that copies of documents held in the SHD are the property of the Ministry of Defence and if they are intended for any purpose other than personal use, you must obtain authorisation from SHD and pay the costs relating to partial copyright assignment.
